IT Manager (for smaller shop, with hands-on development skills)

Introduction & Background
This dynamic and growing small-medium sized company (70-80 employees) is seeking an IT Manager who has hands on development skills, and also possesses knowledge and understanding of networking, telecom, project management, change management, vender management and software/systems development.
 
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Manage and maintain existing network and cloud infrastructure with proper strategy and communications.
  • Oversee successful and regular system-wide back-ups.
  • Manage and maintain organization-wide system-wide security.
  • Manage and provide ongoing internal support for CRM and other mission critical systems.
  • Responsible for all third-party software and software vendor day-to-day relationships, including, but not limited to, updates and troubleshooting.
  • Supporting our user base by providing end-user desktop support, troubleshooting desktop, printer, and performance related issues, including MS Windows, MS Office, and desktop driver support.
  • Maintain and support business continuity strategies, including device spares, refresh strategy and high availability design.
  • Troubleshooting related to the interaction between software systems.
  • Monitors quality improvement outcomes on a regular basis, develops action plans to address identified issues.
  • Minimum 2+ years as an IT Team lead or Manager including previous staff supervisory experience
  • Assist and support senior management team in defining the future direction of IT and information systems.
  • Nice to have but not a requirement, PMP designation
  • Must have an undergraduate or graduate level education but will accept a strong combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to plan and control budget and expenditures,
  • Recruit, mentor and supervise staff
  • Experience or knowledge of data processing and systems, Desktop applications, Database management, Website creation and management software, Web service design, Programming software, Networking hardware, Networking software, Data analysis and interpretation.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for information systems.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment where you will work under pressure, with tight deadlines requiring a high level of attention to detail.
 
Qualifications
Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of networking, telecom, project management, change management, vender management and software/systems development.
  • 4+ years solution development experience using the Microsoft stack is required.
  • Ability to configure current systems and develop new systems as required.
