Our enterprise client is seeking a specialized professional with an information architecture and/or content strategy focused education and experience. Experience and/or a specialization web content management systems (specifically SharePoint 2010, Adobe Experience Manager or Drupal 8) will be an asset.
Project Scope & Objectives
  • Research and discovery toward modern information models which could be used to improve the organization's ability to deliver dynamic contextual experiences
  • Apply findings from IA best practices and research toward the creation of a modern information model to be used with calgary.ca and external services consuming company information
  • Work closely with UX designers, project managers, content resources, front-end developers, measurement & analytics teams to implement a new information model in alignment with project goals and outcomes
  • Planned strategic planning and knowledge transfer with internal Web & Digital teams to ensure progressive evolution and long-term sustainment
  • Provide IA expertise, and be ready to make Web & Digital products better for users.
  • Ability to plan and/or manage the resources appropriate for the implementation of the new information model
Essential Skills
  • BA/BS degree in Computer, Library or Information Science, Information Architecture or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in information architecture work (planning, design, implementation…).
  • Ability to work well with others, open effective communication, desire for collaboration with team members.
  • Experience in software development and creating information models for a variety of web-based applications, products, platforms and device types.
  • Accessibility experience WCAG 2.0
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and translate user research
  • Knowledge of information architecture, metadata frameworks and templates in content management systems
  • Strong web & digital information architecture and content analysis skills
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies (object-oriented JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and experience with HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Ability to manage the completion of tasks within a set and reasonable timeline
  • Web usability best practices
  • Understanding of current web design and development trends
  • Adobe Experience Manager 6.3 experience
  • SharePoint 2010 experience
  • Drupal 8 experience
  • Experience working with Atlassian tools (ie. JIRA, Bitbucket and Confluence)
