Work Location:  This position is based in Calgary, but there will be a requirement to travel to other locations within the province.
Introduction & Background
Our enterprise client is seeking a dynamic Systems Analyst who will be responsible for providing systems analysis support to business units. You will be responsible for the design of application logic, user interfaces, data interfaces, data conversion scripts, and reports.  The role will provide guidance and direction to Developers and Developer Analysts.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Design application components to automate and streamline business processes and functions
  • Design data conversion scripts to load data from external sources, and correct data quality or integrity problems
  • Develop estimates of effort for design of new, and/or modification to existing, application components
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems that occur in the everyday use of an application
  • Understand the architecture of the applications within the groups portfolio
  • Manage multiple initiatives at the same time with high levels of productivity and effectiveness
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle complex work and to provide guidance to Developers and Developer Analysts
  • Responsible for some applications within the portfolio of the group, in terms of overall data movement, dependencies, interfaces, etc.
Essential Skills:
  • 3+ years experience as a Developer Analyst
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting applications
  • A post secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field of study
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business modeling, process modeling, data modeling, and effort/cost modeling and estimating
  • Demonstrated proficiency in N-tier application analysis, design and development using Microsoft development environments and tools.
  • General proficiency with SQL and database query tools
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities
  • Experience with Engineering or Asset Maintenance and Operations applications.
