The Position

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Marketing is a strategic leader for shaping and executing the overall marketing strategy. You will lead a dynamic team and collaborate across departments to drive brand awareness, client acquisition and revenue growth. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership skills and a deep understanding of modern marketing practices including digital marketing activities.

Key Accountabilities Include:
 
  • Develop and lead the Marketing strategy and priorities in line with how they relate to the overall company strategies and priorities.
  • Work with the CEO to set the marketing vision and advance the implementation of national & local digital marketing tactics with intent focus on paid search, paid social, programmatic, display, mobile, affiliates, and other channels that drive qualified traffic and conversion to the website.
  • Lead web and digital marketing strategies that drive acquisition and revenue, including organic growth across all channels and platforms.
  • Increase revenue and client advocacy by developing a best-in-class email marketing program.
  • Increase offerings by innovating and expanding on programs.
  • Own and optimize marketing and agency budgets to increase marketing margins via decreased lead spend per unit, increased likelihood of conversion, and highest possible revenue.
  • Develop a strong and effective internal and external communications strategy to align to brand, to increase sales, drive client satisfaction and improve employee awareness of key initiatives.
  • Develop an effective client feedback program to gauge satisfaction and advocacy. Share results across the company to support the delivery of an excellent client experience.
  • Collaborate with other departments including sales, to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Provide insights and feedback to internal teams based on market trends and client feedback.
  • Be a great partner and effectively manage external partners/vendors with efficiencies gained.
  • Support and strengthen your team: Retain and attract top talent, stay ahead on market trends/new tools, coach, establish career paths, and build a productive, enjoyable team environment.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and adjust campaigns to respond to a dynamic market.

Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience with progressive general management responsibilities in marketing including at a senior management or Director level.
  • eCommerce / B2C business experience and deep performance digital marketing experience in a high-paced, rapid growth environment.
  • Email marketing experience is an asset.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing comprehensive marketing strategies
  • Excellent people skills, with experience managing a dynamic team
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media and leveraging partner networks. Strong

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and scaling marketing teams.
  • Must have analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
